When you emerge from the BART
Terminal, you will be on Market Street. Stand a few minutes and get your
bearings. Looking west, you will see a five street intersection. You
want to go west on Grove, the street in the middle between Market and
Hyde.

instructions
Merrie turns into a dirt path, sometimes in
good riding condition, sometimes requiring some bikehiking.
Since the total trail distance is really only 1.1 miles and you
can ride 75% of the time, I think it's worth the effort. My
wife, on the other hand, thinks you should stick to the road.
Instructions
Ride along the trail in a northeast direction for about .6 of a
mile. You will find yourself at the foot of a long primitive set
of stairs. Hike your bike up the stairs. Turn left and ride
along the trail again for about .2 of a mile. You will come to a
Y with a small trail off to the right. Turn right onto the
trail. Go through the small meadow and up the hill and to the
right. You will emerge at the golf course. You should see the
top of the Legion Hall of Honor to your left.
Go left on the golf cart path up the hill to
the Legion of Honor.
